With a decade’s experience in federal politics, Tom Middleton is a highly effective government relations and communications professional. He has worked in senior roles in both the Rudd and Gillard Governments and in the federal Labor Opposition. He served as Deputy Chief of Staff to former Cabinet Minister Julie Collins and, most recently, was a senior member of Opposition Leader Bill Shorten’s strategy team.

Tom possesses extensive skills in government, media and community liaison, and has significant experience working on Victorian, Tasmanian and federal election campaigns over the last decade. In particular, Tom is very well regarded across a broad network of contacts within the Victorian Government and the Federal Opposition.

Tom has a diverse range of clients at CPR. He coordinated the federal government relations component of the successful National headspace Day, and recently led engagement for Victoria’s nation-leading medical research sector with the State Government, resulting in the first substantial funding boost in thirteen years. Tom also works with clients in the renewable energy, tourism and local government sectors.
